(Standalone Contemporary Romance Releasing November 28, 2016):
From the # 1 New York Times and International bestselling author comes a richly moving story about heartbreak and guilt, second chances and hope. Full of familiar, fan-favorite characters and no two people more deserving of a happy ending, Fire In You will burn bright beyond the last page…
Jillian Lima’s whole world was destroyed in a span of a few hours. The same night her childhood love, Brock ‘the Beast’ Mitchell, broke her heart, her life was irrevocably altered by the hand of a stranger with a gun. It takes six years to slowly glue together the shattered pieces of her life, but Jillian is finally ready to stop existing in a past full of pain and regret. She takes a job at her father’s martial arts Academy and she’s going out on her first date since a failed relationship that was more yuck than yum. Jillian is determined to start living.
She just never expected Brock to be a part of her life again. But he’s firmly back in her life before she knows it, and not only is he older, he’s impossibly more handsome, more teasing and more everything. And when he sees Jillian, he’s no longer capable of thinking of her as the little girl who was his shadow growing up or the daughter of the man who gave him a second chance at life. He sees the woman who’d always been there for him, the one person who believed in him no matter what.
Brock knows she’s the one he should’ve made his, and what begins as a tentative friendship quickly turns to red-hot chemistry that sparks a flame that burns brighter than lust. Falling for Brock again risks more than her heart, because when the sorrow-filled and guilt-ridden past resurfaces, and a web of lies threatens to rip them apart, the fallout could lay waste to everything they’ve fought to build together, and destroy the dreams of those they care most about.

My love for JLA knows no bounds! Yes folks she has done it again. Often times when a writer creates a whole world and gives you different stories from different characters within that world one might think well how do I know this will not be like the rest of the books? How do the characters not mirror one another? Well obviously you my friend have been deeply deprived and have never read a J. Lynn AKA Jennifer L. Armentrout book.

Since I first began this series I fell hard for Cam and Avery (okay mostly Cam but you know what I mean) plus it's right up my ally with it being New Adult, but as the books and characters progress you find that it moves right into Adult and it's perfection. This story though OH MY GAWD!
Brock is swoon worthy right from the jump. He is caring, intelligent, bossy and charismatic. He says all the right things, loyal and just plain charming. Only problem is, Jillian wants nothing to do with him. Now I get your probs like ah what? Just chill. Let's get into the meat of the story (without spoilers ya know).

Jillian's father owns a martial arts studio, he wants his daughter to work there but up until this point she has refused but finally she gives in. Her Dad (Mr. Lima) is the one who discovered Brock "The Beast" Mitchell when he was 14 yrs old. Since then he has taken him under his wing and has become a huge part of the family. Jilly and Brock grew up together she was his shadow and she loved him since she was 8 (okay and here we go with the older guy, younger chick thing that I can't even with because yuck...but it was only brought up a few times so I can live with it) but six years prior something happened to Jillian that turned both their worlds upside down. For six years she has tried to forget him, she has finally decided to live again and goes out on her first date since her last relationship. Oh man, oh man this is where things get truly interesting and lets just say that Brock, after not seeing her for 6 years, is no longer looking at her like a little sister.
I mean whoa, their backstory was crazy and I understood why Jillian wanted to stay away from Brock even if he is incredible. Their past is long and the event that changed her life, I mean WTF! So when she gets sassy with him and pushes away from him I get it. I see why she acts the way she does but unfortunately or fortunately sometimes our hearts know better and speak louder than what our heads want.

I love that characters from previous books appear in this one. I love catching up with old friends. Each of these stories is unique and scrumptious. Brock and Jilly's story is fantastic and had me wanting more. And OMG her cat Rhage! That cat...

Okay yeah he's a bit of a monster but I loved him.

Once again JLA has turned out an unputdownable book. Each page had me either laughing, tearing up or wanting to hit something. Getting lost in her books is easy, because I feel that I am apart of them and I love every second of it!

A Veil of Vines by Tillie Cole Release Day Launch

To most people, princes, princesses, counts and dukes are found only in the pages of the most famous of fairytales. Crowns, priceless jewels and gilded thrones belong only in childhood dreams.
But for some, these frivolous fancies are truth.
For some, they are real life.
On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, people have always treated me as someone special. All because of my ancestral name and legacy. All because of a connection I share to our home country’s most important family of all.
I am Caresa Acardi, the Duchessa di Parma. A blue blood of Italy. I was born to marry well. And now the marriage date is set.
I am to marry into House Savona. The family that would have been the royals had Italy not abolished the monarchy in 1946. But to the aristocrats of my home, the abolition means nothing at all.
The Savonas still hold power where it counts most.
In our tight-knit world of money, status and masked balls, they are everything and more.
And I am soon to become one of them.
I am soon to become Prince Zeno Savona’s wife…
… or at least I was, until I met Achille.
And everything changed
.

I opened the window beside me and stared at the illuminated entrance. I swallowed hard and placed my empty glass on the bar. Metal groaned, breaking through the twilight, as the massive black wrought-iron gates began to open. The limo slowly pulled onto the property’s lane, and I drank in the thick forest that shielded the estate. I inhaled the freshness of the lush green trees. The unpolluted sky was thick with stars—not a single cloud in sight.
A few minutes later, the thick woods cleared, and I gasped. Acres and acres of gold and green vineyards covered the landscape. The scents of plump grapes and damp soil permeated the warm air. I closed my eyes. It reminded me of being a child. It brought me back to the days before I was taken to New York. I could still feel the heat of the Emilia-Romagna sun on my face, the deep smell of olives, grapes and flowers drifting in the breeze as I ran around our Parma estate.
I smiled a nostalgic smile and allowed my eyes to drift open again. I rested my arms on the window and leaned my chin on them as the limo drove on. There were several small villas peppered over the landscape, their lights twinkling in the distance. They must have been the winemakers’ residences. It was not only the Bella Collina merlot that was made on this land; other reds were too—particularly the Chianti from the region’s finest Sangiovese grapes. The Bella Collina olive oil was also up there with the best. But nothing compared to the famed merlot.
The limo turned right, and my breath caught in my throat. I lifted my head and stared disbelievingly at the property ahead. Bella Collina was a veritable Palace of Versailles tucked away in the Umbrian wilderness.
“Mio Dio,” I whispered as I took in the imposing stone structure, the sweeping steps and the vast number of windows set in the building’s walls. Large pillars of red-veined marble flanked the entrance. Cypress trees framed the estate as if it were the shining star of a fine Renaissance painting. Sculptures of famed Savona monarchs of old stood proudly on the manicured lawns, and strategically placed lighting illuminated the sheer perfection of every piece of topiary.
As a child, I had been to the Palazzo Savona in Florence. It was widely regarded to be one of the finest estates in all of Italy, if not western Europe. But this . . . this . . . there were no words. It was perfectly placed, as if it had always been there. As if it had grown naturally from the Umbrian earth just as sure as the vines and woods that kept this architectural treasure hidden from view.

Making my way through the narrow pathways between the tables, I headed back toward the bathroom. Only once I pushed open the double doors and stopped in front of the water-spotted mirror did I realize I’d left my purse at the table, so there’d be no reapplying my lipstick. I pumped soap onto my hands and waved them under the facet. Water flowed, washing away the suds as I slowly lifted my gaze to my reflection. Normally when I looked at myself, I didn’t really pay attention longer than was necessary to put makeup on without ending up looking like a tutorial gone wrong. Standing here now, I really looked at myself, though. I used to wear my hair up all the time, but I’d stopped doing that every day. My hair now hung in waves and the ends curled over the tips of my breasts. I also used to have heavy bangs, but thank God they were long gone. I’d finally learned how to put on eyeliner. That was another miracle. The slight flush of my face darkened my naturally tan skin. My lips were fuller and my nose straight. My hair was parted to sweep to the left so it shielded my cheek…and my cheek didn’t look that bad, especially considering how it looked the first time I’d seen it after…after days in the hospital. Hell, my entire face had been one hot mess. There was a deep indentation in my left cheek, almost like an icepick had been shoved in there, and as I stared at my right jaw line, I was still amazed by what reconstructive plastic surgeons could accomplish. Half my face had literally been pieced back together with an iliac crest graft with a reconstruction plate and a crap ton of dentistry to give me back a full set of functional teeth. Plastic surgeons didn’t have magic wands, but they were magicians. If you weren’t looking at me straight on, you’d have no idea that my right jaw was thinner than my left. You’d have no idea what had happened to me that night. Now I stared back at myself just like I had done that night, six years ago, standing in a bathroom, mere minutes before my entire life came crashing down. It wasn’t that I hated the way I looked now. The fact that I was alive meant I was one of those rare, walking and breathing statistics. But even knowing how lucky I was didn’t change the fact that I felt…deformed. That was a harsh word to use. I didn’t like to whip it out often. Doing so on what was so far a pretty good date was probably not a good idea. Taking a deep breath, I shook my head. I didn’t need my thoughts going in that direction tonight. So far, the dinner had been amazing. Grady was nice and he was cute. I could maybe see myself going out with him again, to an art exhibit, and maybe coffee. And that was what had freaked me out. I was not going to let living freak me out. Nope. I could give him a chance and not worry about whether or not I was settling. Turning from the sink, I dried my hands and then readjusted my hair so it fell forward, over my left shoulder and cheek. I walked out of the bathroom and into the narrow hall, gaze trained on the floor as I took about two steps before I realized someone was standing right outside the door, leaning against the wall. Before I nearly plowed into him. Gasping, I took a step back. All I could see were finely cut black trousers paired with…with old black and white Chucks? What an odd combination, but those shoes reminded me of… I gave a little shake of my head and stepped to the side. “Sorry. Excuse—” “Jillian.” I stopped. Time stopped. Everything stopped except my heart, because it was suddenly pounding in my chest too hard, too fast. That deep, rough voice. I recognized it all the way to my very core. Slowly, I lifted my gaze, already knowing what I was going to see but refusing to believe it. Brock Mitchell stood in front of me.

WHOA! Now if you have followed my blog/reviews for awhile then you know how much I love YA. Its a cleanser to my palette. When I need something to break up the monotony and just need something cute and this fit that and I FREAKING LOVED IT.

In Just Friends we saw Livvy and I liked that story. I thought this book was going to be a continuation of those characters but I was surprised and excited that this is Amanda's book. Alright Amanda Winters is Livvy's friend and this book and the previous book follow the same timeline. I liked Livvy in Just Friends but for me I connected and related more to Amanda. Like most people Amanda is not perfect by any means but her character grows in this book which always keeps me intrigued. The growth of characters if done right I feel helps the reader connect more and Monica did a great job with that.

Jordan Tuttle. While Amanda is the good girl she isn't one of the popular girls, but Jordan is popular and the quarterback. I mean seriously this guy was just....
But there were times I was frustrated with him. But then he'd do something else and my heart would be so happy. He is a very mysterious guy who is closed off but I don't know why I love these types of complex characters because as I read I learned more and more. Slowly we get to see the layers peeled back and it made me fall and care so much for him. Of course there were points as stated above where I was like SERIOUSLY WTF?!

Monica has created a world that has angst, drama, love and friendship. High school can be daunting and I think she did an amazing job with these characters. Amanda and Jordan are not too over the top but they are in high school so at times that does show (which I wouldn't expect anything less since this is YA.) but she managed to do it in such a way that the I had to keep reading because I had to know what was going to happen next.

Tori froze a foot away, blinking at me. She didn’t speak. If she had a reason for coming in here, it looked like that reason just left her. She seemed lost. “Legs,” I probed, when she kept with the staring and not speaking routine. “Mm?” “What are you doin’ in here, babe?” I had no fucking idea what was going on, but unless Tori wanted to watch some chick grind all over me, she needed to get what she came for and step out. She wet her lips. I watched her neck work with a swallow. “You showed me your dick,” she stated. I felt my mouth twitch. Fuck yeah. Breathing a laugh, I relaxed back onto the bench, arms spread behind me and hands gripping the black leather cushion. I tipped my head to the side. “See that impression is stickin’,” I said. “What’s that got to do with this?” “You showed me your dick after I flashed you. That was your move.” “Yeah.” I nodded. What the fuck was she getting at? Tori smiled. Her sin-colored lips stretching slow. “This is mine,” she said, lifting her shoulders as if this shit she was declaring wasn’t a big deal, which it sure as fuck was. This is hers…Oh, fuck me. Fuck. Me. Tori moved closer. Whatever smirk I was wearing pulled from my mouth. That pressure built again, in my chest and lower. I shifted on the bench. “Legs,” I warned, my voice vibrating in my throat as I watched her walk toward me. “What’d I say about takin’ this shit places you can handle? Did you think this through?” I was willing to bet she didn’t. If she had and knew how this could play out, with her bent over and me buried deep, she wouldn’t be back here. “Shh.” Tori stopped in front of my knees. “If we talk, I won’t go through with this,” she admitted, sounding anxious. “And I doubt you’d be chattin’ up the girl who was supposed to be in here, so quit it. Just sit there. Shut up. And keep your hands to yourself.” “You know what you’re doin’?” I asked, looking up at her. “’Cause in this room I’m allowed to touch, babe. Rules are out there.” I tipped my chin at the door, keeping her gaze. “Not in here. In here, I’m participatin’. You don’t like that deal, you better quit now and think of another move, ’cause the second you start takin’ shit off, Legs, I’m on you.” “Then I guess I don’t need to worry,” Tori shot back, speaking with confidence and smiling again. The fuck did that mean? My brow tightened. “Say again?” “I don’t need to worry ’cause I’m not taking anything off, meaning you won’t be on me. I’m just dancing.” I stared at her for a beat. Then a laugh rumbled in my chest as I thought about how fucked she was. “What?” she asked, tilting her head all cute. “This is a really good move.” “Know it is. Not laughing ’cause of that.” “Then why are you laughing?” She brought her hands to her hips and studied me, looking on the verge of an attitude. Her eyes narrowed. “If you think I need to take my clothes off to win this bet, then you are mistaken, Jamie McCade. I know how you feel about me in this uniform. This is gonna kill you.” “Legs, hate to tell you this, but you’re wrong, babe. You gotta worry.” “And why’s that?” I dropped my arms and sat forward, elbows resting on my thighs. “You start dancin’ on me and I’m touching you,” I promised, watching her blink. “You start dancin’ anywhere in this room and I’m touching you. You don’t gotta strip, babe. I just threw that out there ’cause that’s where I thought this was headed. Telling me you’re makin’ a move and you’re makin’ it in a strip club, figured you’d be taking shit off, but honest to God, it don’t matter. Like I said before, rules are out there. Not in here. Only way I’m keeping my hands to myself is if I’m fuckin’ dead.” “These are my rules,” Tori countered, bending down to get closer. “And unless you want me to holler out for my new friend with the gold tooth who looks like he eats narcissistic assholes for breakfast, I suggest you follow them, Jamie.” I chuckled, knowing who she was talking about. Dude made sure I was clear on a few things before letting me back in here. Something I wasn’t sharing with Legs. “And what are these rules, babe?” I asked. She straightened and snapped, “I already told you. Sit there and shut up.” Tori put her hand on my shoulder and shoved, pushing me back until I was pressing against the bench again. Then keeping her grip there, she swung her knee up, braced it on the leather, and lowered herself onto my lap, lifting her other knee and boxing me in with it. I pulled in breath through my nose and curled my hands into fists on the cushion. “And the touching?” I asked, voice strained as I stared at the shape of her tits. They grew closer as she leaned forward, her hands shifting to hold on behind me, and my gaze snapped up to meet hers when her face got an inch away. “Beg for it,” she whispered. My eyes flickered wider. Hers brightened with impending victory. No shit. Tori was gonna let me touch, but I had to call it. I had to let her win. I had to fucking beg. Jesus. Why’d she have to be so good at this shit? I steadied my gaze, telling her as my head tilted back, “Think I’ll just enjoy the ride.”       hts-teaser-5
