Blog Tour {(WEDNESDAY)} by Kendall Ryan

Hard core fucking.
It’s not what I really want, but it's all he has to offer. He's filled with turmoil and heartache and regrets, but for two hours every Wednesday all he feels is me. How much I desire him, how desperate he makes me, how much I'd like things to be different between us. Real.
He used to be my best friend back before he got married. And now? Now, he’s a young widower. It'd be wrong on so many levels to expect something more from him. So I give him what he needs. Dark delicious fucking. But I know I can’t keep this up. I've already given him my body, my soul. I want him to have my heart. It might drive him away forever, but that’s a risk I’m forced to take.
Wednesday is an angsty romp told from dual points of view. If you’re in the mood for something quick and dirty, you’ve found it. Proceed at your own risk.

What I love about Kendall Ryan is that she is able to give me what I need straight away. She gets right to the point. Wednesday may not be too long of a story but I found it to be a perfect one. It was a quick read but gave me all the feels that I enjoy when I read a book.

Chloe and Shaw have been lifelong friends. She has had a crush on him forever but is put aside when he gets married. Tragically Shaw's wife dies and Chloe is there to support him and help him *Cough* grieve. Now don't get all "WHAT? that's not right" on me when you read the whole story, as it unfolds you find that you understand what and why the situation occurred. Look at that cover you mean to tell me if some dude looked like that you wouldn't comfort him? LOL

Shaw has shit he needs to deal with but the one thing he can count on in his life is Chloe. She is smart and beautiful, and believe me you will not be disappointed in this story what so ever. In fact I would like more please. I don't care if it's a spinoff or more from this couple I just loved the setting and characters.

A New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of more than a dozen titles, Kendall Ryan has sold over 1.5 million books and her books have been translated into several languages in countries around the world. She's a traditionally published author with Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins UK, as well as an independently published author. Since she first began self-publishing in 2012, she's appeared at #1 on Barnes & Noble and iBooks charts around the world. Her books have also appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists more than three dozen times. Ryan has been featured in such publications as USA Today, Newsweek, and InTouch Magazine.

About CHARGED:

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by the book attorney who could be her salvation…or her ruin.

Avett Walker and Quaid Jackson’s worlds have no reason to collide. Ever. Quaid is a high powered criminal attorney as slick as he is handsome. Avett is a pink-haired troublemaker with a bad attitude and a history of picking the wrong men.

When Avett lands in a sea of hot water because of one terrible mistake, the only person who can get her out of it is the insanely sexy lawyer. The last thing on earth she wants to do is rely on the no-nonsense attorney who thinks of her as nothing more than a nuisance. He literally has her fate in his hands. Yet there is something about him that makes her want to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun…with her.

Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with a Technicolor dye job. She could stand to learn a hard lesson or two, but something about her guileless hazel eyes intrigues him. Still, he’s determined to keep their relationship strictly business. But doing so is becoming more impossible with each day he spends with her.

As they work side-by-side, they’ll have to figure out a way to get along and keep their hands off each other—because the chemistry between them is beyond charged.

I love when I come across a book that keeps me intrigued and invested in the characters so much so that I don't want to do anything but read. This book is just that.

Jay has once again written a novel with characters that are not simple and easy. They are complex and evolve over the course of the book. Avett was not one of my favorites but as I read and became more involved with her life and story I got it. I see why and I can appreciate her for that. She is one of those characters who doesn't care what anyone thinks and I love that. Moreover getting to see in her head and truly getting to know the depths of her hurts and wants was amazing along with the fact that she doesn't hide behind anyone or anything. She will tell you straight out what she has done and for me that in and of itself is a redeemable quality in anyone.

Then there is the other protagonist Quaid, oh sweet gods of men in fitted suits.
He is Avett's attorney and the complete opposite of her. He has built a career for himself and it shows. Yes, he has worked with others he felt were guilty but it's not the same with Avett and hot damn!
Even though when I first began this journey I was like Oh so it's like opposites attract type story, alright cool. Quickly I learned that this story is so much more. Learning and growing, seeing the depths of another person and not just what they appear to be.

Jay Crownover knows how to write a solid book. Now you all know I am not one for age differences (yucky) but this was written so well that I didn't even care and that is HUGE! Everytime I read one of her books I know that I will get a great story with elements of love, romance, drama, and characters too sexy for my kindle. Love the fact that past characters appear as well. It just feels like family.

I didn’t plan on him.

Or for him.

Or anything that had to do with Cal Donovan from Boston.

Meeting him had been a complete and utter surprise, taking me one hundred percent off guard. I met new people every single day in my line of work and none of them affected me. Wasn’t that the way of things though? You could meet a thousand people and they’d all mean nothing to you. But then you’d meet that one and they suddenly meant everything.

JULES POV

Cal’s eyes opened and met mine instantly, capturing me. It was as if no one else existed around us. I heard nothing else, saw no one else. My new friend Robin wasn’t there at the table in this hotel lobby, and neither were his coworkers. Cal and I were the only two people in the entire hotel, as far as I was concerned.

Glancing at my mouth, he licked his lips. I willed my body not to react, but it heated anyway. He reached out again and squeezed the top of my leg before resting his hand there as if that was where
it belonged. On my body. Touching me. And I couldn’t remember what I had been doing before that moment. One touch from him caused my thoughts to scatter.

“Take a drink.”

That’s right. I was supposed to be drinking this damn bourbon. I stopped focusing on his hand caressing the inside of my thigh and stared at the glass. I tilted it back, sipping it like he had instructed, and I almost couldn’t believe it when the liquid didn’t burn me up from the inside out like it always had before. Everything about it tasted completely different. It was tolerable, good even, to drink it straight when you followed Cal’s advice.

“And?”

“I guess there is a right way to drink bourbon,” I said with a nod, pushing the glass back toward him.

“Was it good?”

“It actually was. I’m impressed.”

“I’m pretty impressive,” he said, and smiled at me with a mock smugness.

I stared at his smile, wanting to photograph that mouth for all the world to see. No, not the world. Just me. I wanted photographic proof of those lips. What if I never saw them again after tonight? I was pretty sure I’d die if I didn’t get to kiss them. Dramatic, yes, but this man woke up the sleeping beast that had lain dormant inside my chest for so long. It was all his fault that my heart decided to come back to life the moment it found him.

DEAR HEART, I HATE YOU - Tour Teaser 2

People say not to judge a book by its cover but HELLO have you seen this cover? It's stunning. That was the first thing that caught my attention the next was the fact that it was a book by J. Sterling. Finally that blurb and title. I mean hello what the hell did it all mean?

Jules, is a woman who knows who she is and what she wants in life. She is determined and set to go after what she wants. I love female protagonists that hold nothing back. Jules is all of that. She doesn't play games, is honest about her feelings and doesn't apologize for them. She is a straight shooter.

Cal, like Jules is tenacious in his pursuit to get his career where it needs to be. He is smart, sexy and fun. Like Jules he wants certain things from life and love is not one of them. Both of them are happy being workaholics, not wanting anyone or anything get in the way of that. But what happens when fate steps in and brings you the perfect person? Do you walk away or try to make it work?

Cal lives in Boston while Jules is on the opposite coast in Malibu, California. Neither of them planned for one another yet one faithful night they are brought together. Right off the attraction and banter are off the charts. Slowly I got a glimpse into their world and how they each felt for one another. There were parts that had me smiling and laughing (especially with Tami). There was a few parts that dragged for me but the author would reel me back in quickly so I didn't lose too much interest in the story. The plot moved along and while it was a more predictable read I liked the fact that this story was realistic. Both Cal and Jules didn't up and leave their jobs, uprooting their lives for someone they just met. Instead they built their relationship, getting to know one another. I can appreciate that. All in all this is a solid read with characters that are cute and realistic. I loved the secondary characters, they brought moments of laughter and helped move the protagonists forward.

J Sterling - headshot I got fired from my last job. It's true. I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone like you?" And I'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is that sometimes being all sorts of awesome isn't fun for other people. They don't always tend to like it. lol So I picked my pride off the floor, bought a laptop and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing stories that meant something to me was a million times better than working my ass off for someone who didn't really care about anything other than the bottom line. My soul has never felt more satisfied. My heart has never been more full. I've never worked so hard in my life, but I love every second of it. I truly do. It is SO worth it. All of it. Every moment. The journey it took to get to this point- I wouldn't change a thing.
