Walk the Edge - cover

One moment of recklessness will change their worlds

Smart. Responsible. That's seventeen-year-old Breanna's role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyberbully's line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas "Razor" Turner into her life.

Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don't belong. But when he learns she's being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it's time to step outside the rules.

And so they make a pact: he'll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she'll help him seek answers to the mystery that's haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they're both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they're going from here.

I have read two books by Katie McGarry and both of those made me pause in wonder and amazement. When given the chance to read this book you know I was all over it. If it was anything like the other 2 than I knew it would be a book that would hold my interest and make me happy. Boy was I right.

This is the second book in the Thunder Road series, I did not read the first one but each book like her Pushing the Limits series can be read as stand-alones as each book follows a character within that setting.

What I enjoyed was this book is about a motorcycle club but the told through the eyes of the young generation. They are in High School. What I liked about this book was how it shows that sometimes in life you are just born into a world, but it doesn’t not mean you don’t have choices.

Razor is this tough, dangerous, and quiet. There is an undertone to him, not of arrogance but of something a bit darker. Yet, he has a side to him that is capable of love. Then there is Breanna, a smart girl who has many responsibilities, including helping to care for her younger brothers and sister all while giving up what she wants for her families sake. Although they seem to forget about her often. Man oh man did I have issues with her family. Seriously people if you have children it’s your responsibility to take of them not your eldest children’s. I get helping out family but this was more than just that. I could go on forever with this issue but I will let it go since this is a fictional world. Bust seriously this girl is a saint to the things she gives up for her family.

When Razor and Breanna meet it’s quite funny. She thinks he is going to hurt her. Razor is annoyed that she feels this way. Razor makes me laugh the way he handles the situation but after this initial meeting they both can’t seem to forget the other. Breanna makes me laugh with her inner monologue. As the story progresses I started to see these characters for who they truly were not what they put out for others to see. The relationship was a slow build which for me is always good. I love the interaction with them and how they slowly begin to trust one another. Each have their own problems but damn as a couple they truly are amazing.

Another aspect I enjoyed was the fact that Breanna is being bullied. A football player wants her to write his English paper and she refuses he tells her if she doesn’t he will post pictures of her online. Not that I enjoy bullying, it’s the fact that this topic is relevant for our time, and how McGarry uses the storyline to bring light to how this can happen to anyone. I absolutely enjoyed this book from beginning to end. As I said yes, I have an issue with her family but being Mexican I know how it is with family and loyalties. I enjoyed the romance and the way the story was told. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to read about a motorcycle club but not sure if they are ready for it, I think this series will show you the ugly side but also the sweet caring side of it all.

And don’t miss the first book in the Thunder Road Series,

NOWHERE BUT HERE!
