Shannon's Review of The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

The Mistake
By: Elle Kennedy
Release Date: April 28, 2015

College junior John Logan can get any girl he

wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of

parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer

grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing

despair about the dead-end road he’ll be

forced to walk after graduation. A sexy

encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just

the distraction he needs, but when a

thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan

plans to spend his final year proving to her

that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace

is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and

so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly

handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity

case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was

when they first hooked up. If Logan expects

her to roll over and beg like all his other puck

bunnies, he can think again. He wants her

back? He’ll have to work for it. This time

around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…

and she plans on driving him wild.

The Mistake had me engrossed from the first page. The writing, the story, and the characters were absolutely perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better read.
Grace is the main girl from the book. She is smart, sassy, and very level headed. She is a freshmen in college when the book starts. She is not in the ‘in crowd’ to say. She is shy and very nervous. So much nervous she babbles and it is too funny.
Logan is gorgeous and hot and a hockey player and hot. Yeah he deserves to be described as hot twice. He also has some issues going on. His dad isn't a man he wants to grow up to be. I can say that I felt sorry for his dad to start with. It wasn't until the end of the book Logan made me feel different about him. He is a man whore too. But I ain’t going to lie because if I was in college with him he could man whore with me.
These two come together in an unusual way. Needless to say their relationship is different from others. They are perfect together though. They complement each other very well.
Also the comradery with his frat brothers are too funny. They really are brothers but with each on their different personalities.
I am giving this book 4.5 hearts.
