By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and
mother of two who resides in a small, rural
town in New Jersey. By night she is a
keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to
bring her colorful characters and their
endless antics to life. She has a long standing
love/hate relationship with caffeine.
Emma is an avid reader. Before her children
were born she was known to consume whole
books in a single day. Writing has also always
been a passion and with the 2013 release of
her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the
ability to now call herself an author is
nothing less than a dream come true.
Shannon’s Review
This book begins with a big oh sh*t moment. I mean the first
page is a big moment in Stanton’s and Jenny’s life. It was like a big WOW
moment. As I got over the shock of that I begin reading more and started to
really not like Stanton. It was kind of hard not to like him but then again he
was pissing me off.
Let’s take a look back on Stanton’s life. He was raised in
Mississippi, which I thoroughly appreciated considering I am a southern girl myself,
and he had great ambitions for his life. He wanted to be a lawyer and be successful.
He had a hiccup, a big hiccup, but he still made it through to his dream.
Jenny on the other hand was stuck in at home raising their
child. She did however fulfil her dream it just took longer than it should.
Jenny is a great mom and a great woman. She has her head on straight but has a
man who is only there when he can be.
Now these two have arrangements with their messed up
relationship. That was the part when I got pissed. Seriously I wanted to jump
in front of Stanton with a hand on my hip and pointing him in the chest with my
other hand letting him have it.
As I read more and got very emotional attached to these two I
started seeing a side of both of them that made me believe they were doing what
they were supposed to. Although I didn’t like it. This book really shows
growing up on both of their parts. I fell in love with the both of them. This
is a great coming of age book that I couldn’t put down.
I recommend this book for the writing, the relationships,
the laughter, and the greatness of the book in itself. I am giving this book 5
hearts.
