Just Human by Kerry Heavens, Review by Dee

Just Human

Synopsis:

Meet Liv and Danny...

Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her, so she lets him go without a fight when his parents make him move back to America. She knows she will never love anyone like she loved him, but she has to move on.

Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him, because she does nothing to get him to stay, so he goes quietly when his parents leave the UK. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her, but he has to move on.
Twelve years on, they have made a good job of pretending, they may have almost forgotten. But when they get in touch via Facebook, it seems that it is all still there.
They quickly find that they are intensely compatible in ways they hadn’t even begun to explore before they were forced apart.

Can they put aside their fears and give it a go? Or will deep rooted doubts and insecurities tear them apart?

Dee's Review
OH god. Oh dear. Do you ever read a book and think that you could seriously see yourself sitting down and having a beer with the characters? They just seem that normal. They aren't billionaires or gazillionaires and own private islands.. but they are regular normal people? That is what Liv and Danny remind me of. It also makes me think of that saying, "when you love something let it go, if it comes back it's yours". Or however it goes.

I'm sure I totally just butchered it. Anyway..  the chapter headings. They cracked me up. My favorite, by far, was I don't befriend blue headed people. I mean who hasn't gotten a friend request on Facebook and there is no picture, and your finger hovers over that accept button for quite some time. NO? oops.. okay then. Anyway. I also love that social media was brought into the story line. Since Facebook is so common now a days, I love that someone included it as such a major part of the story line. It truly is a way that people who knew each other a long long time ago can reconnect. So to me, it was perfect. It was a perfect way to make the story line so relevant. Now, do I think the truth behind who urged Danny to contact Liv may come back to bite him in the ass.. yeah, I do! but.. we got to have some secrets, right? Yes.. wait..no!

Oh dear book gods, the way he surprises her by showing up! SWOON! OMG! Could it have been more perfect! SIGH!

I knew that they both had their issues with how things ended so long ago. And I was just kind of waiting on that other shoe to drop. Their relationship was just so ... perfect. I mean, it was HOT perfect. So, something has to go wrong, right??..... AND there it is.. Brooke. I wanted to jump into this story and smack her! and... sorry, Liv, but smack Liv too!

I'm not a fan of how she handled the situation. BUT... I can understand it. It's something I probably would have done too. See what I mean.. so relateable.. so real! I gave this book 4 hearts. You really do need to read this!
