Review of This Girl by Colleen Hoover

This Girl

By Colleen Hoover

Blurb:
There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.
Colleen Hoover’s New York Times bestselling Slammed series has brought countless readers to their knees with a whirlwind of love, passion, and heartache. Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.
In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

Dee’s Review:

Okay, let me start this by saying I was a little worried reading this book. I mean it was the same story just from a different point of view, right? Wrong. Well, I Mean that’s right.. but its also wrong. It’s not just the same story. Seeing it from Will’s point of view made me fall in love with this story all over again. And can I just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it was told. Nicely done, the mixture and old with the new, but it’s all told like he is reminiscing with Lake. In bed. Telling it to her, instead of you as a reader. I love it! Okay sorry.. back to the book. So, we start from the beginning and get to see it all from how Will saw the story unfold. We even go back to the stupid little red gnome that she landed on, the Darth Vader house shoes, to the first date, the first kiss, to Julia walking in on them, everything.

We even get to see how Vaugh and Will broke up. All that drama, how many times he wanted to quit working for her, how he really truly struggled. The pieces we didn’t get to see in Slammed and Point of Retreat, it was like this was the missing puzzle pieces that explained everything. Not only does it help Lake see why things went down the way they did, but it helps us see. Plus we get the added bonus of the wedding and honeymoon from his point of view.. ssssssss. HOT!

If you read the Slammed Series and you loved it, you are going to love This Girl. It’s got the same humor, the same love, the same everything, just great. I’m not going to lie.. the Epilogue is awesome! Oh Will.. what will we do with your hot, fine, poetic self? This book is so worth being picked up and read. It’s a superb ending to a wonderful series. I give this book 4 hearts. So worth the read. Sigh… Will Cooper. Poetry. Enough Said.
This Girl can be purchased at Amazon , B&N , kobo , and Goodreads
