Stormy Surrender by Nicole Andrews Moore blog tour and giveaway

Blurb for Stormy Surrender:

Sometimes the life you planned isn’t the one you get to live.  Sometimes the pain of the past overshadows the future.  And sometimes to start over you have to go back to where it all began.  That’s how it was for Joe Masters.  That’s how he ended up back in New Hope.  And that’s why he was in his thirties and had nothing to show for his life.  He needed a complete overhaul, just like his father’s old house.  Instead of a fast track, he had slowed down and was on a ten year plan.  These days that was more his speed.  And as much as he tried to fight the inevitable, he was learning to accept and surrender.

Martha had weathered her fair share of storms in Vermont, was accustomed to the cold, both the chill in the air and the cold shoulder in her marriage, but after the miscarriage she felt like she would never get warm again.  So she did the research from the laptop while sitting in front of the fireplace.  She knew what she needed when she Googled hope, she just never imagined that it would bring her to New Hope, South Carolina.  She never imagined that her husband would trick her into leaving and never follow.  She never imagined that a southern storm with all its force and fury could be so destructive.  But after the storm, the land is washed clean.  It’s perfect for a fresh start, a clean slate, and a new love.

Stormy Surrender Excerpt:

Marti glanced at the hammer, then the tile, shrugged, and started swinging.  The tile made a lovely high pitched sound as it shattered.  The shards flew about the room, ricocheting off the walls and door before landing on the floor.  And because that first swing felt so good, she just kept swinging.  Each time the sledge hammer connected with the tiles, she would think of what her marriage had been like.  She would recall an incident, or a conversation, or any one of a thousand reasons that she should have dumped him, should have ended the marriage years ago.  It felt good.  Maybe even great.  And then she looked down and saw red.  Literally.  There were blood droplets all over.  Before she could even ponder why the room was looking like a crime scene, the wooden handle was ripped from her hands.

“What are you doing?”  He sounded incredulous.  And annoyed.

“You’re a contractor?  What does it look like I’m doing?”  She was upset that he had interrupted her impromptu therapy session.

Shaking his head, Joe grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the room.  “I know demo and that wasn’t it.”

She growled.  “I wasn’t done yet!”

“You, babe?  You are finished.”  She opened her mouth to argue, but he covered it.  With his mouth.

Shocked, she stood there with her eyes wide open.  His mouth was pressed against hers.  And it didn’t feel wrong at all.  Without thinking, she melted into him, wrapped an arm around his neck, and allowed her eyes to slowly flutter shut.  Joe bent slightly and scooped her up and held her against his muscular chest.  His lips pulled back, but his forehead was pressed against hers.  She opened her eyes to find him staring at her.

“Crazy woman,” he muttered to himself as he carried her out the back door of the house.  She couldn’t be certain, but it seems like she would have been carried farther if he hadn’t heard the sound of others talking in the front yard.

Slowly he lowered her to the ground and made sure she had her footing before releasing her.  She wanted to smile up at him, but she hadn’t decided what to make of that moment.  All she could do was look at him and murmur…”Why?”

“I needed to distract you,” he responded with a shrug.  And with that he turned and walked away.

Deaths Servant blog tour stop

Death’s Servant V V Inn Novella Blog Stop

Death’s Servant A prequel to the V V Inn Novel by C.J. Ellison

Jonathan Winchester has clashed with his alpha one too many times. After another argument he leaves the Manitoba pack, his only home since the werewolf attack that changed his life. He returns to his home state of Virginia to start a new life free of pack politics. Jon finds work and meets a young waitress, Raine, who appears to be a lone werewolf, too.

As their relationship progresses, Jon’s embroiled in more intrigue than he bargained for and a danger bigger than he can handle. He's running scared until his own alpha tendencies surface, making him unable to leave the pretty werewolf’s problems behind. The young man is desperate to save Raine—even if his efforts may lead him straight to death.

Journey along in this first prequel novel involving the favorite
characters from the bestselling V V Inn series. Written at reader demand, this stand-alone story explains how the beloved Jonathan came to serve the deadly redheaded vampire, Dria.

Dee’s Review:
Let me start by saying this. I don’t get sucked into many paranormal books. But this one “sucked” me in. Get it? Did you see what I did there? Vampire pun… oh, sorry. Okay... The story of Jon just was so well written and so great. I loved it. I felt like I was going through his emotions with him- the loneliness  the desire, the fear, uncertainty. Not only do we have his need for pack, for family, but the need to protect that runs deep. He can’t deny his Alpha desires. And that need to protect is for Raine and her pack, from a blood brothel run by a vampire of all things.

His efforts to save this woman and her pack can't go anywhere without help of some sort- but its finding that help that proves what kind of a man he is. Who can he turn to? His old pack, more werewolves, vampires... he is alone when he starts on this venture to save them.

When he seeks out the help of a vampire named Dria and her mate Rafe... can he give her something she can't refuse to save a pack of wolves he doesn't even know?? Will he make it out alive? Will Dria?? Can they save them from what they've been through?

Who can’t help but love the 3 of them together? Kicking ass and taking names. This has definitely caught my attention and now I want to know where their story leads to next. I give the novella 4 hearts.

Where The Ivy Grows by SK Quinn and J Lerman

Where The Ivy Grows by SK Quinn and J Lerman

*Before I start my review, let me remind you that this is Book 2 in the Devoted series. You will want to be sure to read Ivy Lessons first.

When Sophia first meets Hollywood actor and Ivy College teacher, Marc Blackwell, she never dreams they’ll share a forbidden, obsessive relationship. Now, dawn is breaking and they've decided to tell the world of their affair. As paparazzi hound Sophia’s every move, Marc steps up his control – dominating Sophia in every way possible, and drawing her into his dark world of intensity and passion. Soon, Sophia is led into Marc’s troubled past, and shown the shadowy secrets that torment him. However, Marc’s desire to discipline Sophia awakens her deepest fears, and she realizes it’s time to disobey.

Dee's Review:
Much like Sophia, I am obsessed with Marc Blackwell. Once you start this series you will understand why. But in this book, I became full fledged obsessed. So obsessed, I read this in one day. I could not get enough. I could not put it down. Their relationship is out now, I had to know how everyone would handle it. Including them. Well, really Marc. How was he going to handle the loss of control. I felt like around every corner there was drama. (and I loved it) Just when I thought things were straightened out and going to run smoothly.. BAM! Nope! Whether it was with her play, or her classmates, or their relationship..

And when she starts to realize she needs to make her own decisions and stand up to him... I am not joking, this was me...
Then when you add the villain of the story, who is paparazzi no less, Giles Getty... I proceeded to look and feel like this..

He takes villain to a whole other level. There is not one nice thing I can say about this man. The things he does.. bad, bad man. He is the epitome of a villain and boy do you hate him. Now, Marc and Sophia, there is plenty to say about them.. but I can't ruin it. I can't say enough good things about this book. It kept me hooked from page 1 until the very end and left me longing for more. More Marc. More Sophia. More acting and learning. More information. Did I say more Marc? oh, oops.. More, more, more, more. I will tell you this. The way the story ends, this was exactly how I felt..
I can't wait for book 3. Can. not. wait. Sophia and Marc are just such a great couple. And she grew so much in this story, I can't wait to see where this takes us. I highly recommend this book. I give it 5 hearts.

Rock My Bed by Michelle A. Valentine Blog Tour and giveaway

Rock My Bed synopsis:

Everything always seems to fall into place for twenty-four year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon’s lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind; knowing a guy like Riff isn’t the relationship type, merely just a play thing.

When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff’s arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she’s forgotten Riff, she’s forced to see him again when her best friend, Lanie, ropes her into being a bridesmaid for her upcoming wedding to Black Falcon front man, Noel.

Sparks fly instantly between Aubrey and Riff when they’re forced to reunite, and suddenly she finds herself caught between the man that’s good for her and the one who completely rocks her in every way.

**New Adult Romance--Book 2 in the Black Falcon series. This book can be read without reading book one.**

*****SANDIE'S REVIEW:**************

Holy Moly I seriously need me a Riff and I need him STAT!

I know its hard to trust those rockers, but this guitarist just blew my senses and heart away. It has been a while since I have read a good rocker book and Riff just proved to me again, why I love me some ROCKSTARS.

So I loved Rock the Heart (book 1) and fell you know of course for Noel. Now Michelle gives us Rock my Bed, which is Riff and Aubrey's story. We start out with Riff trying to give Aubrey a "golden ticket". I laugh just thinking how ridic that is. A ticket to have sex with a rockstar ppfffttt (can I get one though?)
When he finds out who she is and why she is there, he just knows there is some thing different about her. Aubrey actually makes the first move and becomes his friend on his fan page which he runs, and they begin their flirtation from there.

Riff and Aubrey agree that they will spend one night together to get this infatuation of one another out of their sysytems. That fails and they spend the weekend together.

I loved the witty banter between them, then of course comes that part and you all know me well enough to know what that is right...the WHHHYYY (insert whiney cry)

So from here you can see that these two really do want to be together and they explain why they can't and I can give them this, the reasons where/are good and I would have been leary too.
Aubrey goes back to NY and Riff is on the road, neither can stop thinking about the other. Aubrey, determained to move on from Riff, starts dating Issac. You know they type the exact opposite of a hot rockstar.
Ok, so here is where things get interesting and now that she is dating Issac, Aubrey's BBF Laine is going to marry Noel, the front man for Riff's band. Alas, they will be reunited and now this is where I am mean and leave you with these questions....
Will Aubrey be able to stay away from Riff? Will she give into him again or will she just walk away from what she feels to be with whom she thinks she needs to be with?

I know mean, but hey *shrugs* I don't do spoilers SORRY! Michelle has given me a reason to believe in my rockers. I love Black Falcon and these guys are just yummy. I was captivated with Riff from the jump, ummm can I have a golden ticket please? He is charasmatic, loyal, funny, and sensitive (even if on the outside he doesn't show it) I loved the way Michelle writes because we see what is inside both of these character's heads and never left wondering WTF is going on. Just like Noel and Laine's story, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Riff and Aubrey's story. Shoot I am already re-reading it because I can not get Riff out of my head! I think someone is about to be getting a spot on the blog to join my other rockers, and you all know how picky I am about who gets a place here on the blog!
I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE. You will not be disappointed.

Sweet Thing by Renee Carlino

Mia Kelly is a twenty-five-year-old walking Gap ad who thinks she has life figured out when her father’s sudden death uproots her from slow-paced Ann Arbor to New York City’s bustling East Village. There she discovers her father’s spirit for life and the legacy he left behind with the help of an old café, a few eccentric friends, and one charming musician.

Will Ryan is good-looking, poetic, spontaneous, and on the brink of fame when he meets Mia, his new landlord, muse, and personal heartbreaker.

Dee's Review:
Do you remember growing up and thinking of what you wanted your ideal man to be? Our Mia has that, her head is set on what she wants "the one" to be like. Just like with anything else, that may not be how things work out. That being said there were so many times when reading this book when I just wanted to jump into my Kindle and slap Mia. I am like come on, I know you are trying to go for your ideal man. But come on, you have WILL right in front of you! He is full of awesomeness!! He's kind, thoughtful, hot and a musician!! So I started to do this...

Hoping she would see what was right in front of her. Then some of the stuff that she would say.. I was like.. What?..Wait...Did she?... No, she didn't...Oh God..She did.
Once things start to evolve between our handsome Will and Mia, I got so excited. I was screaming YES!! But then she would do or say something and I was back to wanting to climb in my kindle. She had me all over the emotional scale. I know she had a bunch of heartache in a year, that is hard for anyone. But I still ended up saying to Mia.. "Come on!! You can do this!" Finally someone opens her eyes. But is it too late?? I had to take a breather.. You want things to work out..I want thing to work out.. Please don't let it be too late.. Okay Dee, breathe in, breathe out.

Do Mia and Will work it out? You will have to read it to see. I will say this.. the ending is spectacular. I suggest reading this book. It is so worth it. I give this book 4 Hearts.

Review and blog tour stop for Love in All the Wrong Places by Audrey Harte plus giveaway

Blurb:
Annie Chang is in her mid 20s and has lived in Los Angeles all her life. After a series of failed relationships, she’s beginning to feel like she will never meet Mr. Right. But seeing one of her longtime BFFs find love on the internet, she decides to give online dating a try.
After finally finding an amazing guy who sweeps her off her feet, will he prove to be everything she could have wished for and more or is he too good to be true?

Sandies Review:

I enjoyed this book. It was a light and easy read.
Annie reminded me of a few of my single friends that have went the route of online dating.
Ok only thing is WTF Craigslist REALLY???

I have heard such horror stories about Craigslist. I wanted to slap Annie just for that decision alone! ok so I guess people still use Craigslist but that scares the crap out of me.

I could comprehend the frustrations and apprehensions that Annie had about online dating.

I enjoyed the way that the author made these characters down to earth and very likable. I was rooting for Annie throughout her misadventures of the men she scrolled through and went out on dates with.

Annie meets one guy named Gabe and I was like:
Whoooo hooooo YEAH!
especially when it got to the part that they did this

Then just like that and out of nowhere
And I was like WTH man? Ugh more frustration and more dating and its just crazy (but a good crazy).
There was certain points that I found myself relating my friends to Annie and her experiences with dating. Its never easy and at times when Annie's heart broke so did mine, thinking gah she's so sweet she deserves her HEA.
In the end I enjoyed Annie's story and can not wait for the next book as Audrey left me with a cliffhanger.

I rated this book
4/5 hearts

Pre-Order Gabriels Redemption:

Let Love In by Melissa Collins Cover Reveal

Synopsis:

What would happen if you lost everything?  If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?

That’s exactly what happened to Madeleine Becker when her parents died when she was ten years old.  Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again.  The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can't get hurt if she doesn't fall in love.

That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy's pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world.  Maddy's inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.

Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Snippet of Maddy and Reid’s first encounter:

There was a group playing quarters on the island and another group lining up shots on the breakfast bar – so not my scene.  I just shrugged my shoulders, opened the door, pulled out a bottle of water and, when I turned around to walk back outside, I face-planted into a wall of solid muscle.

“Hand me one?” His voice was smooth and... gruff at the same time.  Red-faced, I turned back around and got him his water, glad for the cool respite that the opened refrigerator door offered.

“Here you go.” I could not peel my eyes away from his mouth as he moved the bottle to his lips.  They were perfect - beautiful and full in a completely masculine way.  I watched, completely fascinated, as his throat moved, downing the water in three or four large gulps. He wiped his mouth with his forearm and I couldn’t help but let my eyes travel up the rest of his arm to his biceps and shoulders – those were the same as his lips – perfect.  Amazingly, gorgeously, utterly, divinely perfect.  Muscled and tanned, his arms were mouthwatering.

My knees wobbled.  My heart thudded.  Thousands of butterflies spread their wings in my belly.

“Thanks…” he stared blankly at my face for a minute and I couldn't help but wondering if he liked what he saw.  He cleared his throat and roused me from my little daydream where the gorgeous boy is mesmerized by the maybe-a-little-above-average looking girl.  That’s when I realized he was asking for my name.

“Maddy.  Sorry, my name’s Maddy." I nearly choked on my tongue to get my freaking name out.

I’ve always been an avid reader.  Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer.  Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer.  I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it.  When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity.  My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there.  I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
